Recently I watched the movie ‘A Knights Tale’ and I was reminded that it was indeed a beautiful movie, which after probably the 5th time I’ve watched it, I got the most out of it. William (played by Heath Ledger - oh so missed as an actor and a human), was a commoner, who dreamed of better things for himself and those he loved, but in medieval times, a commoner could never become any more than that! His father in the movie reminded William that he could change his stars if he really believed it. This message was reinforced throughout the story. So what is the story? (more…)
How hard can it be to express compassion? For some, very hard. I have a beautiful book by ‘His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler’ - ‘The Art of Happiness‘ which sits on my desk. At one stage this book got shuffled about like paperwork that I needed to attend to but didn’t have a chance. Moving it around meant I kept looking at it yet not taking the time to read it, then finally I tackled the first chapter and then the next! Ironically, the book ended up getting priority reading! Removing it from my desk and bringing it into another environment, meant I could re-read small parts of it and capture the wisdom. (more…)
Anxiety can often be overlooked or mistaken for another condition, and therefore undiagnosed, misunderstood, and psychologically swept under the carpet, while the Anxiety itself creates havoc in the nervous system of the body. Catching the signs of anxiety early can mean the prevention of far more grave conditions.
Anxiety is a feeling that manifests in various ways, it can begin with your heart beating faster, usually in response to a stressful situation. Another symptom, even more, common is your palms become sweaty as you’re confronted with a perceived overwhelming task or event. Note the word ‘perceived’! Everything in life comes back to perception. How you respond to any given situation is directly related to your personal, private interpretation of that situation, ‘perception’. (more…)
Diffusers are really clever little devices that enable you to distribute beautiful and purposeful aromas throughout your home, office, or storage areas to create a cleaner and fresher ‘air’ and enhance the healing process if someone is unwell in the environment. You may have a diffuser already, and completely happy with it, however, you may also live in a home where there are several rooms, and you want to create a different effect in each room.
