How hard can it be to express compassion? For some, very hard. I have a beautiful book by ‘His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Howard C. Cutler’ - ‘The Art of Happiness‘ which sits on my desk. At one stage this book got shuffled about like paperwork that I needed to attend to but didn’t have a chance. Moving it around meant I kept looking at it yet not taking the time to read it, then finally I tackled the first chapter and then the next! Ironically, the book ended up getting priority reading! Removing it from my desk and bringing it into another environment, meant I could re-read small parts of it and capture the wisdom. (more…)
In a personal computer with the Windows operating system, Ctrl-Alt-Delete is the combination of keyboard keys that the computer user can press at the same time to terminate an application task or to reboot the operating system (have it shut down and restart itself). Imagine if it was as simple as that with your mind? To be able to control a situation, to create an alternative, and then to delete what is destructive and no longer serves us. Well, Control, Alt - Delete can be instant metaphysically, the challenge is inviting the rest of the body to join in with what the mind is willing to change!
In a computer it happens instantaneously at a click of a mouse or the press of the keys; in real life when we need to ‘reboot’ or ‘reset’ our own physicality, health, and clarity, it only takes longer because the wiring between the mind and the physical (the action) can be compromised due to out of balanced chemistry, bias, beliefs or in other words ‘mid-ear banter!’ (more…)
